Lindau to Zurich and the end of Europe.

The entrance to the ancient city of Lindau on the German/Austrian border on the Bodensee.

Walking down one of the cobbled streets.

The great window in the Lindau Lutheran Cathedral

Roman Catholic Cathedral in Lindau. I lit another candle here for JJ.

Vegetables from the district at the town market.

Further down the narrow streets from yesteryear.

Interesting sign in Lindau.

This is specially for Steve Ludwig. Someone please show him.

The centuries old Town Hall.

For Papa who taught me to appreciate fine things.

A history of the building painted on the wall.

Beautiful ancient fountain in the town with the birds taking advantage of the cool and clear water.

Another narrow lane.

The ancient entrance to the harbour at Lindau.

Down on the waterfront.

The very old and impressive Police precinct and Harbour Master's office.

A bronze model of the ancient city of Lindau.

A reminder of Nurburgring. A suzuki Swift in the colour I would have preferred!

A cactus garden in Vorarlsburg, Switzerland. Who would have thought.

My first magnificent meal with Guy and Des. Packing on the kgs.

All the bits and pieces!

So very good to see Guy and meet his wife and to hear him speak German!

Our walk through Zurich. Standing in front of the Opera House.

Narrow streets in the old city.

Looking accross the lake at the Cathedral.

A part of the city I remembered from 1976 and 1993 when I visited Hannali.

'Troepies' going off to camp. All Swiss boys do military Service.

Guy with Charlie who is learning to walk on a lead and is showing too much interest in the 'bitches' at 2 years old.

A spectacular house which is now a Buddhist retreat.

An ancient Swiss Castle.

One of the outer walls.

The ancient Rose garden below the castle/Schloss.

One of three of the thousands of spectacular Roses that I photographed,

Another voiew of the Rose garden with somevineyard wedged against the slope below the schloss.

Another waterfront at the top end of the Zurich lake.

We went to St. Gallend and I could not resist this shot!

One of 104 Bow windows in the ancient town of St Galland.

The great Roman Catholic Cathedral of St Galland.

From the back.

Just below the altar. Quite spectacular.

Another candle for JJ. Just thinking of you and mourning.

Another magnificent Bow window.

Spectacular tiling on the Church roof of the Protestant Cathedral.

Muted glory.

And another one!

The result of Guy braaing for 4 generations of his wife's family.

And there they are!

Guy van der Walt, and Jean-Michel Roberts. So magic to see them both in Zurich.

The reason for my visit to the Zurich Zoo. Two Snow Leoprad cubs. They are almost out of view, but spectacular markings.

Just visible centre right in front of the tree. The well campflaged daddy Snow Leopard.

One of the many owls there.

Spectacled Bear family.

Please protect and save them in the wild.

This is a very large Galapagos Tortoise. Very large!

Ambling away from us.

Fruit Bats feeding on a fruit basket in the Indoor Tropical Forest.

This is a spectacular man made Tropical Forest. Full of birds, insecst and reptiles with some stunning flowers and magnificent plants and trees.

A troop of turtles and a pair of ducks.

A Zurich tram rumbles by as I wait for Hannali.

A couple of bikes at the train station.

Hannali designed this by taking a silver ingot and firing a machine pistol bullet through it. A powerful statement.

Looking down from the Cloud. This is a very tall building in Zurich. The tallest.

Another view from up top.

An attempt at a 'selfie' with Hannali. Not as clear as it looked to the naked eye.

This one worked. Amazing to think that we have been friends since 1955 when in Sub B/Grade 2. Wonderful.

The new cultural university of Zurich built in an old Yoghurt factory!

Selfie in the lift door!

The building's logo.

The two of us in the lift doors.

Roof garden of the university.

Main entrance.

Overhead rail and tram rail below.

Looking out from Hannali's apartment.

Hanna;i's apartment designed by her sister Helen. Really magnificent two level apartment.

The table is laid for our impromptu lunch.

Leaving Hannali again to return to Uster.

Guys children's school with a 100m 4 lane tartan track. Larney!
And so the journey through Europe ends and I head for Dubai. I will miss Zurich and someone special. The journey continues.
