Melbourne and the Old Boys.

So I mowed another lawn for a couple of nights with Rob Flude in Heidelberg, Melborne. Needs tlc, but they will move out of this rental soon.

Rob's temporary abode.

Richard Tate took me to a number of his building projects in Melbourne. Every single one is awesome. This is a pub area built for the Melbourne Cup weekend and finished in time for a massive party. He uses a lot of timber, steel and glass. This and the others I saw are amazing.

Richard in conversation with one of his team. They all adore him for his kindness and compassion. He is amazing.

Another Richard creation with steel, timber, copper and glass. Just a magic pub and eatery.

Could not resist. A Blue 1965 Mustang soft top. In such good condition too. Near one of Richards homes which he let me have for the remainder of my stay. He is amazing.

Coastal Bush walk on the beachfront near St. Kilda where I stayed.

War Memorial. Very powerful symbol of the nation. A place of great spiritual awareness.

In the crypt. How true.

Red Poppy. Symbol of WW1, The Great War.

Little blustery atop the War Memorial with Melbourne CBD behind.

The Battle that made the nation. Gallipoli. What a waste of men. Watch the movie sometime.

Into the Botanic Gardens. Beautiful Camelia.

And this one too has a magic colour combination. Thee was a very large Sulpher Crested Cockatoo in the upper branches. Still weird seeing all the varieties of parrots and parrot like birds in the wild in such numbers.

All about harvesting water. So easy.

WW 1 infantry at the trenches. Stark reminder.

Another imposing statue remembering WW1.

South African War Memorial to the Australians who died on the Highveld 1899-1902.

At the JP Gaultier exhibition. Love the Blue and White stripes. Seems to remind me of something I have been a part of for 53 years.

A wonderful Gaultier head piece.

Part of a huge mural at the exhibition in his signature colours.

More unusual JP attire.

The working Golden Roundabout in the atrium of the Art Galley.

One of many magnificent Japanese costumes on display.

Magnificent glass walkway in the Melbourne Art Gallery.

In the Ancient Chinese exhibition.

Massive neon sign on the exterior wall of the Melbourne Art Gallery.

Richard and I after a 'brekki' in a Greek taverna in St. Kilda enar where I stayed. So very good to see this amazing Old Boy after 35 years. So very good to be with him for a week and to hear his crews talking of him with such fondness and admiration.

A living room area in an old Victorian style home where Richard has redone the entire interior and added this room, a floor above and 'Granny' flat at the rear.

Live symbol of WW1.

A little snack on the patio. Yummmm!

South african shop at the Victoria market. Biltong and Boerewors.

Richard and Anna. Magic couple.

My hosts in Melbourne. Richard and Rob at the OBU supper. Slightly brlurry due to too much beer!

Also a bit blurry, but the Old Boys in Melbourne. I got thoroughly lost trying to get home that night and had to drive into the city to get my bearings before following the Tram tracks to St. Kil;da and home. Up the next morning at 04.50 to get to the airport on time for the Sydney Flight. Don't fly Tiger! Thanks to Richard, all was well. This journey continues towards the last legs.
